While in the chiropractic office, he ultimately made the decision to become a chiropractor. Dr. Derrijk enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa, and started shortly thereafter. Besides getting a great education, he obtained extra clinical experience by working for and being mentored, by some of the greatest chiropractors the world has known, through the Troxell Intern Program and Gonstead Methodology Institute. He was awarded the Diagnosis Certificate of Merit for his work in the Athletic Training Lab on the Palmer campus. Dr. Derrijk continues to consult with his mentors for guidance while attending and teaching at seminars hosted by both the Troxell Intern Program and Gonstead Methodology Institute.

The experience and knowledge I have gained, by listening to and then teaching alongside those doctors, has proved invaluable to my patients.

I Could Not Lift My Arm Due To The Pain

I was playing middle linebacker for my high school football team during my senior year. During one game, I tackled the opposing team’s ball carrier. Our momentum caused us to both land on my right shoulder. By the end of the game, I could barely lift my arm due to the pain. My high school’s team doctor was a chiropractor and adjusted my shoulder. My parents took me to see him at his chiropractic office every day the next week, and I was able to play in the game that next Friday night.

Dr. Hilary graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While at Palmer, she met her husband and practice partner, Dr. Derrijk Hollon. Together, they founded Hollon Family Chiropractic in Jefferson City in 2013, which has since grown to include a second location in California, Missouri.

In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Hilary loves teaching the next generation of chiropractors. She serves as an instructor and board member with the Gonstead Methodology Institute and Gonstead Clinical Studies Society, frequently teaching across the country. She continues to seek mentorship and advanced training to further sharpen her skills and better serve her patients.

Dr. Hilary is also dedicated to giving back to the Jefferson City community. Hollon Family Chiropractic was honored as the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year in 2019, and she has served in many community roles, most recently as a Capital Shrine Club Lady.

Outside the office, Dr. Hilary and Dr. Derrijk love traveling, hiking, and working toward their goal of visiting every U.S. National Park. At home, she enjoys cooking, working out, reading, and spending time with their two labradors, Rogue and Surly.

Above all, Dr. Hilary loves helping people unlock their inborn potential to heal, live well, and thrive.

In 2019, she moved to Atlanta, GA to begin Chiropractic School at Life University.

I didn’t choose Chiropractic, Chiropractic chose me.

Growing up, I was interested in just about anything that was considered science, and I knew that one day I would use science to improve people’s lives. I have always loved working one on one with people, so in high school, I decided that I wanted to be a physical therapist and began shadowing a PT in my free time. After discussing my goals for my career and my life, this PT suggested that I speak with a local chiropractor, the same chiropractor, in fact, that my mother had just made an appointment with. During the visit, the doctor explained to us that chiropractic is more than “popping bones” and that the nervous system that controls all functions of the body must be uninhibited to properly heal and maintain the body. Following this appointment, not only was my mother seeing major improvements, but I was hooked on chiropractic, specifically Gonstead Chiropractic, and pursued it relentlessly.

While in school, I had the opportunity to work as a chiropractic assistant for a Gonstead chiropractor near the school. I was also an active member of the Gonstead Club and was eventually honored to lead as the president of the club. I was blessed to learn directly from a few of the greatest Gonstead chiropractors in the world through the many seminars and workshops that I attended throughout my time in school. Upon graduation, I was recognized for my research with chiropractic care, stress, and the autonomic nervous system. I am excited to continue learning throughout my career and hope to teach in the future, and I would like to continue to contribute to chiropractic research.

After his final wrestling season, he began his journey toward a chiropractic degree in the winter of 2019, while also coaching the men's wrestling team.

Dr. Dylan served as an associate coach throughout his time in school, and in 2021, the team won the NAIA National Championship. While in school, he also participated in other extracurricular activities, such as competitive Olympic weightlifting and being part of the Gonstead Club, where he eventually because president.

He graduated in 2022 and briefly moved to Reno, NV before returning to Atlanta to work in a Gonstead chiropractic clinic in the local area. Dr. Dylan once again stepped onto Life University's campus, this time as part-time associate coach and sports chiropractor for the school. In his role as a chiropractor, he worked with a wide range of athletes, including national champions and Olympic team members. As a coach, he helped Life university win its first National Duals team title in 2024.

Dr. Dylan considers his greatest achievement during this time to be helping guide athletes into becoming more influential members of their community - both at Life University and in the surrounding area, with positive reverberations extending to their local communities.

Dr. Dylan continues to pursue athletic endeavors as an avid outdoorsman and hiker. Growing up, he showed Morgan horses and competed at the World Championships, where he won a Grand National title in 2009. This drive for excellence has carried over into his work as a chiropractor, where he brings the same dedication to the care he provides for patients at Hollon Family Chiropractic.
